About Dirk Coetzer

A well-established trading and financial executive in Pretoria, South Africa, Dirk Coetzer has led Firminy Capital Sarl & Firminy Equity Fund FT as Managing Director since 2006. He also serves as Managing Director of ICON Capital Sarl and manages the ICON Investments Fund FT. Dirk Coetzer’s systematic approach towards investing and business emphasizes a productive work environment in which communication takes center stage during high-pressure decisions.

Completing high school in Witibank, South Africa, Mr. Coetzer undertook a year of National Service before completing a degree in Marketing & Financial Management at Technicon Pretoria (now Tshwane University of Technology). From 1995 to 1996, Dirk Coetzer held responsibilities as Asset Manager and property syndication specialist with Southern Asset Management. He subsequently completed a behavioral psychology course in New York with Long View Investments.

Dirk Coetzer next worked in corporate funding and structured finance with the Belgian firm Omni Comers. With AINCI (Pty) Ltd. from 1997 to 1999, he notably travelled to Egypt and undertook similar responsibilities. He simultaneously served as Financial Officer with Royal Group of Companies in Egypt. From 1999 to 2006, Mr.Coetzer was a Securities Trader with Financial Acceptances & Securities (BVI) Inc.

Dirk Coetzer’s enterprise Firminy Capital Sarl is registered in Luxembourg, and was created to oversee the Firminy Equity Fund FT and maintain secure and profitable securitizations. The firm’s management team, as well as its professional associates and contractors, each have specialized knowledge in distinct areas of structured finance, banking, and securitization. Dirk Coetzer also sits as a Senior Council Member with the Environmental Development Foundation in London.
